I bought these asap when I saw they came in green 😍 The shield and wing part can be put on or removed, which I think is cool. There's a few parts they can Velcro too, so you've got a bit of choice there. In my photo you can see the placement I picked. I personally hate the hidden wedge but it wasn't too hard to take it out! I haven't worn them outside yet but they're awesome and I had no discomfort when I put them on. If you rip out the wedge, be careful of the nails poking out from the shoe under the wedge!
